Samsung unveils new camera, Windows tablet that can run Android

Galaxy NX

Samsung has announced a number of new devices, including an Android camera with interchangeable lenses and a Windows tablet that can also run the Android operating system.

The camera, called the Galaxy NX, is designed to take professional-quality images while also letting users quickly share them on the Web. It can do that by running apps like Instagram and connecting to 3G and 4G data networks.

The Galaxy NX features a 20.3-megapixel APS-C Sensor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Users can also change the camera’s lens for different photographic scenarios.

Last year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Camera, a point-and-shoot that runs Android, but with the Galaxy NX the tech giant is venturing into the world of professional photography.

The Galaxy NX wasn’t the only innovative device Samsung unveiled at a media event this week in London. The company also introduced the Ativ Q, a Windows 8 tablet that can run apps designed for the Android operating system.

The Ativ Q also features a large 13.3-inch screen with a high 3,200 by 1,800 pixel resolution.

Samsung did not say when the devices will launch in the U.S. or how much they will cost.
